Wondrous Light
Through Advent & Christmas
I’m excited to tell you about my latest project: a book. As editor-in-chief, I curated the collection, helped to edit the comet, and designed the entire book.
Are you longing to reconnect with the true spirit and spirituality of Christmas? Through reflections from the Revised Standard Lectionary Bible verses, creative writings, and light-filled, inspiring photography, Wondrous Light guides us through the Advent season, preparing our hearts to celebrate Christ’s birth deeply. The centerpieces of Wondrous Light are the personal reflections, poetry, and art contributed by Selah community members, which encourage us to contemplate God’s purpose, impact, and action in our lives, during the holiday season and far beyond.
A special section highlights the ministry of National Geographic Traveler photographer and pastor Andrew E. Larsen, whose ministry promotes seeking truth and making peace between Christians and Muslims. Larsen’s extensive international travel inspires him to photograph beautiful landscapes and compelling portraits of the people he meets. Additionally, he’s produced two documentaries on peacemaking, and his photography calendar has been enormously popular over the past decade.
With scripture, creative writings, and light-filled inspiring photography, Wondrous Light guides us through the Advent season, preparing our hearts to celebrate Jesus Christ’s birth deeply. In addition, the personal reflections, poetry, and art contributed by the Selah community encourage us to contemplate God’s purpose, impact, and action in our lives, during this season and beyond.
This book offers an opportunity to share the beauty of the season with our community, friends, and family. Join in the communal interaction of pondering and pausing these words, images, and heart-given arrangements as we walk through the Advent Season into Christmas and the New Year.
Selah Center publishes Wondrous Light, a welcoming community-based in Washington state that pauses, encounters the Spirit through contemplative practices, and grows together toward wholeness and loving others. Learn more about Selah, its principles, and its programs at selahcenter.org.
The book features photos from unsplash.com. They are so spectacular the book is coffee-table worthy. The book is available on Amazon.com in paperback, hardcover, and Kindle. My work as editor-in-chief, along with the rest of the editorial team, is pro bono. I hope you’ll check it out — Wondrous Light. In the days to come, I’ll share excerpts with you.
I hope you enjoy the book. I would appreciate a review of the book on Amazon.
